Dr. Ann Blaine Coambs
A little about me (Dr. Coambs)…. I have earned my Charlotte, NC “citizenship” after having lived here more than 15 years! However, I lived in many places as a kid, including Milwaukee, London, Chicago, Omaha and Dallas. I graduated from Rice University, and then the University of Texas School of Dentistry – both in Houston, TX.
Then I came to Charlotte to complete my residency training at CMC Hospital (now Atrium Health). I fell in love with the Queen City during that year, and my husband and I decided to permanently relocate to North Carolina. Awesome decision!
After working for other dentists, I opened my own dental office in 2012 in the Arboretum area of south Charlotte. A year later, I earned the prestigious Fellowship Award from the Academy of General Dentistry — the FAGD designation — signifying a serious commitment to continuing education. Only about 6% of general dentists in the United States have earned this honor, and I’m proud to be among them. Beyond the FAGD, I’ve pursued advanced training through the Dawson Academy, one of the most respected postgraduate education programs focused on occlusion, bite therapy, and comprehensive care. I’m also a certified provider through the Bioclear Learning Center, where I trained directly in the Bioclear method — a minimally invasive cosmetic technique I now use as one of my signature treatments. And I’ve completed multi-year training through Molis Coaching, including the capstone event, which has deepened my approach to comprehensive cosmetic and restorative care. I’ve also been recognized as a Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite every year from 2019 through 2024 — a reflection of the community trust our practice has built right here in south Charlotte. I’ve also received a Charlotte Magazine Top Dentists Award nine consecutive years (2016–2024): 2016–2024. Outside of the office, I enjoy kickboxing at 9Round, eating good food, hiking in the mountains, and spending time with friends. But most of all, I love spending time with my three wonderful sons, my husband, and my extended family. They are my joy!
