Even though we do not specialize in pediatric dentistry, we are a family practice and are happy to see children. According to the ADA, the first dental visit should occur within six months after the baby’s first tooth appears, but no later than the first year. Even though these teeth are not permanent, it is important to keep them clean and healthy for future permanent teeth. Regular checkups are important to check for cavities, monitor proper growth and development of teeth and jaws, and to ensure a proper basis for future oral hygiene and care.
